For those of you that I have not seen or talked too, we got our test results back. The doctor said that everything went great and that all the results came back normal. The still want to keep him him on medication to help with his focusing. So we are really excited. Thank you for keeping us all in your prayers. We love you all!!!

All about AJ
OK so I haven't grasped the concept of this having to actually WRITE on the blog thing. Yet I know that I should. So here is what I am going to do. Many of you have facebook and are probably wondering what yesterday was about. So here we GO, its kinda a long one, but at least I won't have to explain it sooo much.
As you all know we have thought for years that AJ has had some type of learning problem, but never sure what it was. Now most doctors prefer to wait until they are five to diagnose. So on AJ's 5th Birthday we got referred to a Neurologist, we went and saw him at his Belleville office a few weeks later. He said that he wanted to give AJ a year to mature since he was doing good in the small class that he was in and then see how his progress was. I was totally OK with that knowing that he was going to do well in his pre-school class.
So then the next school year rolls around, so I call the doctor to make an appt. Now you would think that I could have seen how this was going to turn out with the problems I had with the appt. So I call and make an appt with the doctor for a few days before school starts. I told the nurse that we had seen the doctor the year before at the Belleville office. No big deal right, yeah right. The day before our appt they called to cancel, apparently they scheduled with the wrong doctor, and the correct doctor doesn't see anyone out of the Belleville Office anymore. SO we re-schedule for the first full day of school at St. Luke's first thing in the AM. So now I have never been to St Luke's and I tell them that, they say no big deal. So the day of the appt I drive over and am running late and then get "temporarily misplaced" aka lost. So I start calling the office to ask for help and let them know we are running behind. I called for 15 minutes, letting the phone ring for 3 to 4 minutes at a time. When I do finally figure it out on my own and get there I tell them about the call, they say oh it's cause our phones don't turn on till after 9am. AJ's appt was scheduled for 8:30. So here I am not really happy to start with when the doctor walks in. He is looking at all of AJ's IEP information that I got from the teachers that I gave to the nurse. He asks AJ 2 questions never looking up from his medical record. As a matter of fact he never even touched AJ, ad decided to see him again in a year. Needless to say I wasn't happy. So we decided to find a new neurologist.
That is when Tracie was able to get AJ an appt with Hanna's doctor, Dr. Yamada. So we saw him back in March. Dr. Yamada wanted to run some blood, and urine tests. After about 3 weeks he called and said that several of AJ's amino acids were higher than he liked. So he wanted to do the blood work again, but on an empty stomach. So we did that in April. Dr. Yamada came back and said that he still had a high Glycine, amino acid, level. He said that it's not really high but high enough to cause some concern. You see high Glycine levels is attributed to glycine encephalopathy, a genetic disorder that would explain his developmental delays, but is also known to cause seizures. Now IF AJ does have this he doesn't have high levels so would have a mild version. That being said Dr. Yamada wants to measure the glycine level in his spinal fluid, hence the spinal tap. Dr. Yamada said since we already have him knocked out for that lets do a cat scan. All went really well yesterday and should get the results in about 2 to 3 weeks. I will keep you all posted.

At his last IEP mtg this year we decided that he will attend regular classes at ROOSEVELT next year. We are really excited that we get to be in the same school as our big brother. Hello out there . . . .
So I know I am not really doing good at this whole BLOG thing since it's been several months since I have written. I tell you what, I don't know how you all find time to do it. I am so busy I am lucky to get on the computer one time a week. I am going to give Gus access to the blog in hopes that he can post some updates as Saxton gets bigger and bigger. He's already 5 months old and can roll over. My how time flies. As far as the boys go, Hunter turns 8 next month. Looking at an indoor baseball party. AJ is doing AWESOME in school and received the rising star award and citizenship award this last quarter. Hunter has been on honor roll both quarters. Missed straight A's (missing it by one B). As far as anything else goes, we are getting my bathroom done. I will post before and after pics as soon as it's done.

SAXTON LEE
Sorry this took me so long to get this up on the blog. Things are a little crazy around here and we are gone most weekends with football this year. OK so here is the scoop on the arrival of Saxton.
Well as you all must know by now there is a new member to the Gustfson family. Now Saxton was a little ahead of schedule, but we are not complaining. Brandi was having problems over the weekend with a few spots of blood and lots of swelling in her ankles. So she called Susan (the mid-wife) on Sunday and she told her to come in on Monday. So when she got there they saw signs for pre-eclampsia. So they decided to induce that following morning, but wanted her to check in at Memorial at 6p that night so they could soften her cervix. So off she and Gus went.
The next morning around 8:00 am they started the potosin for Brandi. At around 10am the potosin was really kicking in and was causing lots of pain for both Brandi, and Gus. So they opted for an epidural. Once that kicked in all was well.
Now Brandi and Gus had asked me to be in the room during the delivery so after a little bit of rescheduling I was able to get done with work at 1:30ish. So I called Gus in the morning and told Peanut to sit tight till Aunt Jackie could get there. Let’s just say Peanut is a good listener. When they started the potosin at 8:30 she was at 2cm, now when I got there at 3ish she was only a 3-4 cm. Then from there we rock and rolled by 6 we were at 8cm and after that we were ready to push around 6:30. Now the only problems we had was Brandi was running a slight fever around 4pm, and after awhile Saxton’s heart rate was going up a little higher that the nurse was happy about. So they contacted Susan and when she got to the hospital they decided that BL was ready to push.
Now for those of you who don’t know this (which I didn’t) They prefer that if you get an epidural that you do not push and just let your body push the baby out naturally. Mostly due to the fact that girls can not feel the contractions, but Brandi was able to feel the contractions and was able to push. So now it’s pushing time.
Now Brandi did AWESOME and I am so proud of her. She did great breathing and even better pushing. She got Saxton out in just a few pushes and was even able to help deliver. Susan had her reach down once Saxton’s shoulders where out and help pull him out and on to her chest. Best part was there were no tears. Saxton Lee Gustafson was born on Sept. 9th at 6:59pm

They must have tried 20 times to get that little man an IV, but he just wouldn’t let them. They tried tops of feet, hands and even the head, but it didn’t go well. So finally they decided to just do a shot and bring him to his momma. So at around 10:45pm Saxton was delivered to his mom.
7 lbs, 4 oz and 19 inches long!!!
Now Saxton is an angle of course, but he is a hold me baby and hasn’t figured out when day and nights are. Yet we will keep him.

Bill and Rita's newest edition
I don't know if you all have heard the good news but mom and dad have finally bought a new car. Mom got a Honda Fit about a month or so ago. She is really excited and really loves it.
You know that things are cool when you start talking about your baby's first bath. Supposedly there is even a picture of "Silver Bullet's" first time in the rain. So what happened to all the cars, well pop has moms Honda now (which is driven maybe once a month by me). Brandi and Gus bought the Pontiac from the parents, much better gas mileage, and more baby friendly than the truck. Brandi still has the truck for hauling options though!! Anyway, just thought you would like to meet the newest edition!! Keep an eye open for her. Next time you see mom ask to check it out. You would be SURPRISED how roomy it is. When Daniel and I went out with mom and pop for a double date the boys sat in the back and had lots of room, and we know those boys are tall. Well gotta get the boys in bed. (trying to get back into a routine for school)

This summer with the Laminack's
So as usual this summer has been crazy for the entire family. The Laminack clan has had a lot going on this summer. We tried to spend as much time as we could at the pool. We didn't go as much as the boys would have liked. We even did swim lessons at the Belleville Pool. Hunter completed level 3 and AJ is still level 2. The boys had lots of fun at the Belleville pool, especially when it comes to the diving board. My little guys are fish!!! 
We also got new bikes this summer. We didn't quite learn to ride but 
PaPa Bub sure did try. Unfortunately I don't have a good yard, sidewalk or alley for the boys to ride. Our front yard has a little too much traffic for me. Hopefully we will try to get to Aunt Sara's and Uncle Byron's before it gets too cold and practice there. We decided to put training wheels on Hunter's cause we really never rode last year to begin with. It's on our list of things to do before the winter comes. That way next year AJ will 
learn and we can all go for family rides. I would love for Hunter to ride the Tour De Belleville with me next year. That would be awesome!!! As for PaPa Bub- I promise he has a bike that will fit him for his rides!! He was just remembering the old days when he was a wee lad.

They only allow 25 people at a time, and you only get a little over an hour to play. So we will scope it out and let you know how it goes.

in Santa Claus, IN. It was my 2 rug rats, 2 twelve year olds that are really good friends of the boys and me, and of course me and Daniel. Daniel could only get one day off so we drove out that morning (got there at 10ish) and stayed till they closed at 7:30, and drove home. If you have never been to Holiday World and you have little ones, this is about 10 times better than 6 Flags. Hunter was able to ride every ride in the park, including all the roller coasters. Keep in mind they are all wooden. AJ was just a hair to short, but we are going to ride 
them together next year. We really had a lot of
fun there and the day passed by quickly. Now for those who have never been there, they give you free drinks and sunscreen. When we went to the water park AJ was big enough to ride every ride there, just he had to ride with an adult. It was fun, because most of the rides are raft rides for 4 people. Daniel says we are going again next year, but we are going to stay for the whole weekend so we can do all the rides. As for the favorites, Hunter loved the Voyage, which was rated the #1 wooden roller coaster in 2008. AJ liked the Frightful Falls (log flume) and we even rode it 2 times. When the big kids went on a roller coaster, we found a ride around it to ride while we waited.

What's in a NAME???
Hello friends and family. As you can see we are coming to the blog party. A little late, but were still getting here!! Anyway in case you didn't notice the name, this blog is for the whole clan, the Sax's, the Laminack's, and the Gustafson's. I figured that since I started my Dare Blog that I could at least do a family blog. Especially since the family is about to grow and things are getting busier, and crazier. I am new to this blog stuff so please be patient and I take criticism well. I am setting this up so that mom, dad, BL or Chad can get on and update too. So be sure to look at who posted the blurp. I will try and get on later and update everyone on the ongoings of the clan. Gotta get some housework done today!!
